Get consulting - Sustainability The new Primary School of Biassono is imagined as a garden school, a landscape of learning where architecture and nature weave together and slowly dissolve into one another. It is not a single building, but a scattered constellation of pavilions, gently placed among trees and gardens, connected by courtyards, paths and open-air rooms.

Drawing from the Brianza tradition of old villas, independent single-family houses, green enclosures and small-scale architecture, the project transforms this attitude into a contemporary environment for exploration. Every space opens outwards, turning daily movement into a gradual encounter with nature, the town and the community. The school becomes a civic threshold, a place where learning and public life overlap. A generous plaza, a multi-use gym, the agorà-auditorium and the gardens welcome shared activities throughout the day, allowing the campus to breathe with the rhythm of the neighbourhood.

Conceived as an NZEB landscape, the project combines timber structures, natural cork façades, renewable energy systems, rainwater reuse and a rich mosaic of outdoor spaces. Sustainability becomes part of the everyday experience, a quiet lesson in ecology and care.

Biassono’s new school is an open and porous campus, a common ground where children, families and citizens can meet, learn and grow together in a continuous dialogue with the surrounding landscape.
