The Agropoli waterfront project reimagines the city’s relationship with the sea, transforming the coastline into a dynamic, integrated extension of urban life. It replaces car-dominated spaces with a pedestrian-friendly linear park that blends architecture, nature, and public interaction. Native vegetation anchors the design, restoring ecological balance while creating a lush, inviting promenade enriched by public squares and platforms.
The project celebrates the Angioino-Aragonese Castle as a visual anchor, with spaces ranging from a cultural amphitheater to a botanical garden reflecting the Cilento landscape. The “Water Plaza” reconnects the city to the sea, offering cooling fountains, shaded seating, and a hub for orientation. A belvedere provides panoramic views, while the “Sports Plaza” near the San Marco school promotes year-round activity and community engagement.
By merging sustainable mobility, ecological restoration, and vibrant public spaces, the project transforms the waterfront into a seamless continuum of city and sea. Agropoli’s coastline becomes a lively, sustainable centerpiece of urban identity and daily life.
